Plantar Wart Treatment

Plantar warts, also known as verrucas or verruca plantaris, are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). These hard, grainy growths usually appear on the heels or balls of the feet and can be painful, especially when walking or standing. Plantar warts can often be mistaken for corns, making accurate diagnosis crucial for effective treatment.

Comprehensive Treatment Options

We offer a range of treatments designed to eliminate plantar warts effectively. Our comprehensive treatment approach includes:

  • Debridement: Carefully removing the thickened skin layers to expose the wart for treatment and activate clearance.
  • Salicylic Acid Treatment: Using high-concentration salicylic acid to dissolve the wart tissue.
  • Cryotherapy (Freezing) available upon request: A 2nd-line treatment measure for stubborn plantar warts.
  • Needling: Area is locally numbed and needled, this treatment has shown promising results
  • Red Light Therapy: When combined with other treatments, red light therapy may enhance the effectiveness by promoting healing and stimulating the immune response.

We are committed to providing the highest standard of care for plantar warts, offering options tailored to your needs. Book your Nail/Skin Appointment today to start your journey towards healthier feet.

Prevention Tip: Wear sandals in public pools, locker rooms and gym showers.
